Joseph journeys to Churchill, Canada to experience the summer spectacle of thousands of Beluga Whales frolicking in the Churchill River and in winter, the annual Polar Bear migration to the shores of Hudson Bay.
Every fall from mid October until mid November hundreds of polar bears come to visit Churchill. Observing the bears’ yearly migration to the shores of Hudson Bay used to be an exclusive “National Geographic” wildlife experience.
No longer — huge vehicles — tundra buggies — roam the frozen land in order to give travelers the chance to have a safe up-close-and-personal experience with these magnificent creatures — the world’s largest land carnivores.
Every summer Churchill welcomes thousands of Beluga Whales. During July and August they come to have their young and otherwise frolic in the warm, shallow waters of the Churchill River. Scores of adventurers and whale lovers of all ages come to enjoy the Belugas’ antics and vocal extravagances of these “sea canaries.”
